WOW!! Check out this grouper!!

Another great picture from our friends James and Roma Anderson. That is our very own Johnny, with the catch of the day! A grouper that weighed in at 85lbs, and was 54 inches long!!

Jack & Betty Moorman (Pioneer Winter Friends)

We've just received this message from our friend Karen Childs, who asked that we pass it along to all of you:


Jack & Betty Moorman (Pioneer Winter Friends) were on their way to a NewMar International Rally in Elkhart, Indiana from August 12th - August 22nd. They stopped to have lunch and found their motorhome and van were on fire. They got out right away and are safe and unhurt. They will work the Rally and wait until next Wednesday for Insurance people to arrive. They had nothing with them except the clothes on their backs. They hope to return to the park this fall on time. Karen Childs


We look forward to their safe return to Pioneer Beach Resort this winter!

The Wi-Fi upgrading has begun!

Jim and Jay got started on replacing our Wi-Fi towers earlier this week, starting with the tower on the Rec Hall. Once the Rec Hall is completed and all the bugs worked out, they will move on to the next tower.

• 11:00am - Horseshoe Tournament - On the Beach
• 11:30am - 2:00om - Lunch in the Pioneer Cafe' (Rec Hall)
• 12:00pm - Washers Tournament - On the Beach

Sunday:

• 7:30am - 10:00am - Breakfast in the Pioneer Cafe' (Rec Hall)
• 10:00am - Children's Games in the Field by the Pond
• 5:00pm - 7:00pm - Free Food, Beer, and Sodas at the Rec Hall

More of our wildlife, and we aren't talking about the people!

There have been a few guests who come in wondering what those "pink birds" are, that they see near the ponds in the park. Almost everyone who comes in asking, thinks they are Flamingos, but in fact they are Roseate Spoonbills.

For all of you birders out there, you are really going to enjoy these phenomenal photos taken by our resident photographer, Sheryl Maner.
